Dark night background with stars and roses
Night shot of Chicago, city lights reflecting on water.
night. The night the university fell silent. Alif arrived just before sunset. Her curly orange hair caught the last light of the sky, and her green eyes carried the hope of a new beginning. She believed this was the start of a normal life. The doors closed behind her. The university was empty. No students. No voices. Only the echo of her footsteps stretching through endless hallways. At the end of one corridor, he was waiting. A boy with red horns, wheat-colored skin, and eyes darker than the abyss. His smile was slow, deliberate. “Finally,” he said. “You’re here.” Fear tightened around her heart. Before the dark spell reached her—before death could claim her—light tore through the hallway. A boy with white hair and turquoise eyes seized her hand. “Don’t look back,” he whispered. And the world vanished. Alif woke in a place untouched by time. Stone walls. Flickering candles. Five strangers watching her as if fate itself had delivered her. They spoke without mercy. If she wished to live… she had to kill the Demon King. She screamed. She refused. She demanded to leave. That was when the white-haired boy stepped forward. His name was Luca. He pressed her against the wall, his presence cold, his fingers brushing her cheek without care. “Don’t scream again,” he said calmly. “Your voice is annoying.” Anger burned hotter than fear. “Don’t touch me again,” she snapped, gripping his collar. “Idiot.” For a moment, something broken surfaced in his eyes. Days bled into months. Training crushed her body and reforged her spirit. Blood, exhaustion, pain. Luca was always there—silent, ruthless, watching. Between the suffering came strange moments: sharp words, childish pranks, stolen laughter. Something dangerous was growing between them. One night, he finally spoke. “My father tortured me since I was seven,” Luca said, staring into the darkness. “I don’t know how to be human.” In that moment, Alif understood. They were both survivors of different hells. The Demon King’s Gate opened like a wound in the world. The battle was merciless. Magic shattered the air. Darkness wrapped around Alif’s throat, choking her. The Demon King laughed. “Your blood is not human,” he said. “You are the key.” Luca screamed her name and charged forward— only to be struck down by a devastating spell. Something inside Alif broke. Or awakened. Her eyes turned pure white. Her hair grew long and white like moonlight. She rose into the air, wrapped in ancient power. “It ends now,” she said, her voice no longer her own. The Demon King fell. Alif collapsed. Luca ran to her, hands trembling, voice breaking. “Please,” he whispered. “Don’t leave me.” When her eyes finally opened, he could no longer hold it in. “I love you,” he said. “I thought I lost you.” Tears filled her eyes as she smiled. “I love you too.” Three Years Later A quiet home filled with warmth. A small girl with long white hair and bright green eyes ran forward. “Daddy!” Luca laughed. Alif watched them, realizing that every wound, every loss, had been the price of a life worth living.
